Willie Calvin 71 of Bangs, passed away Monday October 5, 2015 at Bangs Nursing Home, A service of praise and celebration will be held Saturday October 10, 2015 at 2pm the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs TX, with Burial to Follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. A Visitation will be held Friday October 9, 2015 at the Brownwood Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Willie Calvin was born June 8, 1944 in Jonestown, Mississippi. Willie received his primary education from Jonestown schools. Willie married Terrye (Thomas) Perry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1972. Together they raised three boys. Willie lived in Texas from time to time until he settled in Bangs TX for good in 1997 following the death of his mother. Willie was a man of God who loved the lord. He was a selfless person who would give the shirt off of his back, and help anyone at any given time. Willie will be remembered as a loving father, cherished friend, and faithful servant. Left to cherish his memory are 3 sons, Reginald Perry of Copperas Cove TX, Corey Calvin of Ballinger, TX, Willie Calvin Jr. and wife Carol of Bangs, Tx., and a dear cousin Marlene Sallie of Memphis, TN. Willie leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and many friends. Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Mae Haynes.
