William Battee Jr., 55 of Abilene TX, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 2, 2017 at 1pm at the Galilee Baptist Church located at 1011 Briarwood. A visiation will also be held Wednesday from 6-8pm at the church. Born on November 8, 1961, and raised in Abilene, Texas, he attended Abilene Public schools. William, affectionately called "Jr" by family and close friends, loved football, cars and trucks and was passionate about helping others, He loved to shoot pool and drive people around if they needed a ride. Jr. had a kind and loving heart, and was known as the "Cookie man" by his nieces, nephews and others. He was preceeded in death by his parents, William Battee, Sr. and Lucy Mae Horne Battee; his paternal grandparents, Hubbard Battee and Lucy Brooks Battee; maternal grandmother, Georgia Mae Jackson, great-grandmother, Rosie Lee Rowlins, and sister, Brenda Battee- Garner. His godparents, Thomas and Malinda Hargraves, also preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted and caring daughter, Elizabeth "Kassie" Battee of Montgomery, Alabama; five sisters, Patricia (Daryl) Lowe of Washington, DC, Deborah Battee of Abilene, TX, Sandra Battee of Fort Worth, TX, Pamela (Burt) Thomas of Tampa FL, and Karen Battee of Abilene, TX; devoted brother -in- Law, Howard Garner.Jr.; one grandson, Jeremiah Brown; a cherished and devoted companion and friend, Dianne P. Battee of Abilene, TX; close cousins: Darrell, Belerie, and Anthony Jackson; Life-long friends: Terry Sykes, Lonnie Harris and Curby Lenford; several aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. the family will be at 1481 Glendale Dr. Abilene TX. 79603.
