Vernell Baity Rogers was born March 27 1931 in White Hall TX to Jesse Ray Baity, and Mabel Gaines Baity Vernell confessed Jesus Christ as her lord and savior and was baptized at an early age. She received her primary education from San Angelo TX public schools. Vernell was a long-time faithful member of Macedonia Baptist church. She retired from the west Texas Rehab Center after 36 years of delivering direct patient care for the handicap and disabled as a physical therapist aide with a specialty/training in sign language. Vernell never met a stranger, rather it was giving words of wisdom or providing much needed comic relief. Anyone who saw vernell coming knew to have their dominoes ready, she played dominoes faithfully at the GV Daniels recreational center. Vernell will always be remembered as a lively, Colorful, giving, caring and loving woman of God by her family and friends. She loved her family unconditionally and cherished her times with them. Vernell Met and married Rev. Curtis Rigmaiden and to this union 3 Children were born, Curtis, Johnny, and Cathy. She later married Will Rogers Sr. and to this union came Tracy Rogers. Vernell was married to Will Rogers who preceded her in death. Vernell was a member of the Lady Aristocrat Club and was a Baptist. Vernell Baity Rogers 86 of Abilene passed away Tuesday May 30, 2017 in a Houston Texas Hospital. Left to cherish her memories are daughter; Tracy Rogers of Houston TX, her grandchildren Kimo Rigmaiden of Houston, Johnny Rigmaiden of Mesquite TX, Adriana Rogers of Houston, John Paul Victoria of Houston, devoted sister Clarisse Ross, of Sacramento CA, Step daughter Anita S. Lee of San Antonio TX, 9 grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews, extended family and many friends.
