Tomas Montez 82 of Abilene passed away Tuesday July 15, at Hendrick Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Monday July 21, 2014 at 10:00am at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday July 20, from 11:00 to 5pm at Dove Funeral Home 2500. N. 1st St. Tomas was born in Seguin TX, June 11, 1932 to the parentage of Tomas Montez Sr. and Juanita Gonzalez. In 1950 Tomas married Elena Sauceda. Tomas moved to Big Spring with his family. While in Big Spring Tomas was a Rancher. Tomas then moved his family to California where he worked in manufacturing for many years. Tomas was a very good Mechanic and he loved to fix just about anything. Tomas loved to take his family to the beach, mountains, and different outings. Tomas leaves to cherish his memories: 2 daughters Rosemary Shaw (Ralph) of North Carolina, and Beatrice Montez (Anthony Sigala) of Abilene, and 2 Sons Jerry Montez (Becky) of Seguin TX, and Juan Montez of Colorado. 2 brothers Ernest Montez (Virginia) and Ray Montez (Lupe) both of San Antonio TX, and sister Emma Serda. 7 grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
