Antoine Odell Norris was born on September 23, 1975 in
Chicago, Illinois to Angel O. Norris and William C. Thompson.
Antoine attended Gallistel Language Academy in Chicago. After
moving to Harvey in 1984 he attended Whittier Elementary School and
Thornton Township High School. After graduation Antoine enrolled in
Iowa Wesleyan College and was a student there from 1993-1995.
After leaving Iowa Wesleyan College, Antoine began his active duty in
the United States Air Force on June 7, 1995. Technical Sergeant Norris'
first assignment was to Hickam AFB in Hawaii where he was assigned
to the 15th Transportation Squadron. After three years at Hickam, he
was reassigned to his second assignment at Moody AFB in Georgia
where he was assigned to 347th Transportation Squadron as a General
Purpose Vehicle Maintenance Journeyman. After six years at Moody,
he was reassigned to 345th Detachment 1 at Port Hueneme in
California for his third assignment as a Technical School Instructor.
After five years he was reassigned to his fourth assignment 365 day
deployment at Al ASad Air Base in Iraq as logistics Military Advisory
Team (LMAT) member. After his 365 day tour at Al ASad Air Base he
was reassigned.
This brought Technical Sergeant Norris to his 5th and final assignment
that brought him to Dyess AFB in Texas where he worked as the
NCOIC of Vehicle Management Production Support Section and NCOIC
of Alpha and Bravo Shops.
Technical Sergeant Norris is the recipient of the Army Force
Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Good
Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Ribbon.
On February 9, 2014, Antoine made his transition. Antoine O. Norris
was preceded in death by his sister Khenya. His departure leaves a
vacancy in the hearts of his son Malik Odell Norris, his daughter Tanija
Turner, his mother Angel Norris, his father William C. Thompson, his
grandmothers Shirley Norris and Hortense Thompson, Aunts, Uncles,
Cousins, fantastic neighbors Marie and Joe and a host of relatives and
friends that are too numerous to name.
