In Loving Memory of Stacey Wills After 73 years of keeping everyone on their toes, Stacey Wills finally hung up his paintbrush for the last time on June 18, 2026. Born on September 5, 1952, in Kermit, Texas, to Thomas and Betty Wills, Stacey spent a lifetime building, painting, fixing, and occasionally explaining why his way was the "right" way. As a successful contractor and painter, he left his mark on countless homes-and probably a few spots of paint where they weren't supposed to be. Although he made his living with a paintbrush, his talents didn't stop there. Stacey had a true gift for gardening and a green thumb that seemed almost magical. If he planted it, it grew. He took pride in growing beautiful flowers, thriving gardens, and just about anything else he put into the ground. Much like the people he loved, he nurtured everything around him with patience, hard work, and care. If you knew Stacey, you knew he had two favorite hobbies: making people laugh and giving his beloved wife, Judith, a hard time. Teasing her was his love language, and she always gave it right back. Their playful banter was legendary, but beneath every joke was a love story and a friendship that lasted a lifetime. She was, without question, his best friend. While he loved to joke around, there was one thing he never joked about-his family. Stacey loved them fiercely and would move heaven and earth to make sure they never went without. If you needed help, he was already on his way before you could finish asking. He worked hard, gave generously, and showed his love through the things he did every single day. Stacey was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Wills, and his beloved son, Jessie Wills. We can only imagine the reunion they are now sharing, along with the laughter, stories, and good-natured mischief that surely followed. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Judith Angela Wills; his mother, Betty Wills; his sons, Ashley Wills and Cody Wills; his daughters, Lori Wills and her husband, Mando Faz, and Kimberly Wills; his brother, Mickey Wills; his sister, Alice Wilkerson and her husband, Larry; and his brother, Steve Wills and his wife, Ann. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jackson Wills, Vance Wills, Christopher Faz, Zachary Faz, Alicia Faz and her spouse, Mark, and Isabella Faz and her spouse, Matteo. His legacy continues through his two beautiful great-granddaughters, Elena Hammond and Aurora Faircloth. Being "Pops" was one of Stacey's greatest joys in life. He loved spending every chance he could with his grandchildren and truly believed they hung the moon. Whether he was making them laugh, teaching them something new, or simply enjoying their company, they were the light of his life. They will forever carry with them the love, laughter, and wisdom he so freely gave. Stacey also helped raise more children than anyone could count. To many, he was more than a friend-he was a father figure, a mentor, and a safe place. He held a special place in his heart for honorary family members Jeina Hogan-Hooker and Mark Slaughter, proving that family isn't always defined by blood, but by love. He leaves behind countless family members and friends who will forever miss his wit, his stubborn streak, his generous heart, and his ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. We like to imagine that heaven got a fresh coat of paint the moment he arrived-and that he's already keeping everyone laughing while reminding them they could've done it just a little better. In honor of Stacey, hug your family a little tighter, tell a terrible joke, lovingly give someone a hard time, plant something beautiful, and lend a helping hand to someone who needs it. That's exactly how he'd want to be remembered. We'll miss you every day, Dad. Thank you for every laugh, every lesson, every sacrifice, and every ounce of love you gave so freely.
