Shirley Fields 73 of Abilene passed away Sunday December 22, 2013 at Baylor Health care center in Carrolton TX, Funeral Services will be held Monday December 30, 2013 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 520 Stafford St. Shirley Fields was born in Abilene TX, February 2, 1940 to the parentage of Robert Williams and Ada Bonner. Shirley attended Abilene public schools graduating from Carter G. Woodson High School. After graduating Shirley furthered her education attending Langston University in Tulsa Oklahoma. After moving back to Abilene where she began her family, Shirley worked for the Abilene State School for 25 years. She Also worked for the Abilene Independent School District for many years, retiring in 2002. She was a long time member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church, where she was a part of the Kitchen Crew, the Church Choir and the Sr. Mission, She was very active in her church. Being the caring person she was, Shirley was a Caregiver to many throughout her life, she was a very loving person who loved the lord and her family. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, D.D. Fields and Lisa Williams both of Dallas, Two Sons, Reggie Fields of Abilene and Derrick Fields (Sandra) of Dallas. Four Brothers Earl Williams (Wynell) of Abilene, Joseph Williams (Janet) of Henderson NV, Glen Williams of Dallas and Bill Williams of Dallas, Two Sisters, Jimmie Landry(Dave) of Houston, and Harriett Ward (Walter) of Bolton MS. 8 Grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, extended family and friends.Preceding her in death are both parents, and 5 brothers, Bobby, Malcom, Donald, Rudy, and Clifford.
