Sheila Cadena, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew her. She was born in Levelland, Texas, on December 13, 1967, to Don and Mary Nichols. Sheila attended school in Brownwood, Texas, through Brownwood ISD.

In August 1984, Sheila married Jessie Cadena in Brownwood, Texas. Together, they built a family that remained one of the most important parts of her life.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Nichols Sr. and Mary Nichols; and her siblings, Corlene Nichols and Sherry Nichols.

Sheila leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Cadena and Amanda Cadena; her son, Arturd Cadena; her brother, Billy Godwin and his wife, Tammie; her brother, Donald Nichols Jr.; her sister, Tonya Walters; and her grandchildren, Christopher Massey, Cloey Pruett, and Dezzie Cadena. Sheila also held a special place in her heart for Polly Massey, whom she considered her second mom.

The family of Sheila Cadena would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Brownwood for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided to Sheila and her loved ones.

A very special thank you is extended to Polly Massey for the love and care she gave Sheila. Polly was not only a dear friend but a constant source of support, looking after Sheila and helping ensure that her bills, groceries, and daily needs were taken care of. The family is deeply grateful for all that Polly did for Sheila and for the friendship and love she shared with her.

Sheila Cadena will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
