Rickey Spivey 60 of Abilene passed away at his home on June 29th 2015 in Abilene. A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 8th at 2pm at the Dove Funeral Home located at 2500 N. 1st St.. All are welcome to celebrate Rickeys life with a BBQ at Nelson Park Wednesday evening July 8th at 6:30pm. Rickey was born on September 9, 1954 in Knoxville Tennessee to William McKinley Spivey Jr. and Fay Coleman Spivey. He graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee Illinois in 1974. Rickey moved to Abilene in 1981 to work as manager at Hanover Shoes. He worked as a salesman for various other companies over the years. He married Debora McFadden in 1985. They were blessed with two sons both of whom he was very proud of. Rickey was a good hearted man who would and would talk your ear off. He loved football and watching television in his spare time. Left to cherish his memory are his children Jason Gregory Spivey of Skagway, Alaska and Zachary McKinley Spivey of Denton, Texas; his sister, Marcella Bowling; his four brothers and their spouses; Wm. Jeff (Carola) Spivey, Randy Spivey, Greg Spivey (Rose) Timmy Spivey (Sue); and X-wife-friend-and mother of his children Deborah Spivey of Abilene; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents William McKinley Spivey Jr. and Faye Lento of Illinois.
