Obituary

Reverend Joe P. Cosby was born May 6, 1926 in Sweetwater, TX to William and Viola Cosby. Joe eventually moved with his family to California where he spent the majority of his teenage years until he joined the United States Navy. He returned to California after his military service where he resided until moving back to Texas when he retired. Joe loved the Lord, his family, and was a patriot who loved this country and Texas. He also considered it an honor to serve as a minister for many years in the United Pentecostal Church. Reverend Joe loved to spend time with both his church, immediate family, and enjoyed working around the house and yard. His quiet time was spent reading the Bible and doing Word-Search puzzles. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Carolyn Sue Momsen of Sacramento, CA and Nancy Leigh Grimes (Donnie) of Richmond, KY, sisters, Betty Sbragia (Don) of Lincoln, CA and Ida Dubois (Deon) of South San Francisco, CA, grandchildren Matthew Momsen, CA and Tara Isaacs and Jamie Puckett and two great grandchildren Garrett and Tirzah Puckett, KY, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Rev. Cosby was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy and four brothers, Jerry, Rufus, Charles and Acey and one sister Lois. Online condolences may be made at: www.dovefuneralhome.net
