James (Jim) Madison Hart was born on September 8, 1934 in Phoenix, Az. Jim Married Claudia Brown after meeting at Wayland Baptist University. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Phillips, TX October 1953. They have been singing together for 62 years and were married for 61. They sang together starting with the International Choir and a semi-professional group, The Phil-Originals. Jim & Claudia both worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. His ministry began leading the music in a small church at the age of 17. His first full-time Music and Youth Ministry was at Calvary Baptist Church in Roswell, NM. Jim served churches in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Arkansas. Jim's last full-time ministry was in Green Valley, AZ. Jim attended the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He retired in 1999 and moved to Brownwood TX, where he continued to serve at First Baptist Church in Early, and later at First Baptist Church in Santa Anna for the last 13 years. Jim was a charter member of the "Centurymen" and traveled to Israel, Greece Turkey, Brazil and other countries sharing the gospel through song. Jim took large youth groups from his churches he served and held Bible Schools and Revivals in American Native Nations in New Mexico and Arizona. His last sweet words were "He Sees Me." And "who's Praying?"James Madison Hart, 80 of Brownwood, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Brownwood TX. Jim was preceded in death by a baby sister, his parents and grandparents. Jim is survived by his wife, Claudia Hart of Brownwood; Oldest son, James Hart Jr. (Jimmy- married to Ginger) from Goldthwaite, Texas; Daughter, Debra Hardman (Married to Randy) from Gail, Texas; Youngest son, Tim Hart (married to Robin) from Abilene, Texas. Jim (Paw paw) and Claudia (Me maw) have seven grandchildren and nine soon to be ten great grandchildren. Sister, Nancy Darting Phoenix, Arizona; Brother Tom Smith, Phoenix, Arizona.
