Reginald "Reggie" Dunn 46, of Abilene passed away at Hendrick Medical Center, Thursday, May 29 2014. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, at 12:00pm at Shiloh Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday , June 4, from 6-8pm at Shiloh Baptist Church. Reggie was born March 9, 1968 in Bryan, Texas to the parentage of Cassandra Dunn and Mamon Rucker Jr. Reggie and the family relocated to Abilene when he was 5 months old. Reggie received his education through Abilene ISD-graduating from Cooper High School in 1986. After graduation, Reggie followed his dreams of owning a restaurant. He moved to Oklahoma-where he owned and operated Southen Smoke, and Rosie Mae's Smokehouse. In 2006, Reggie relocated to Robertson County, TX and opened Papa's Smokehouse. After suffering from a stroke, in june of 2013, Reggie returned to Abilene to be close to his mother and her family. Reggie was an extraordinaire cook and he loved entertaining family and friends in his home. He loved to travel, sing gospel music, collecting antiques, and farming. He leaves to cherish his memory-his mother, Cassandra of Abilene, his father, Mamon Rucker Jr.(Teresa) of Hearne, TX., Maternal grandfather, Johnnie Dunn of Abilene, his brother, John Joseph Dunn of Abilene and his niece, Emma Nevaeh Dunn of Eastland County; also, his paternal grandmother, Erma Lee Rucker of Hearne, TX,; Brothers-Kenneth Dunn Rucker, Daniel Gross Rucker, Quincy Embra Rucker, and Dennis Roseman Rucker; Sisters-Felicia Dunn Rucker, Mittie Stringfellow Rucker, Anita Lane Rucker and Terica Young Rucker, Maternal relatives; 6 Aunts, Bettye Gindratt (Curtis) of Abilene, Barbara King of Abilene, Pearly Conner (Ocie) of Katy, TX, Vickie Dunn Jones of Abilene, TX and 2 uncles, Calvin Dunn and Jackie Dunn, both of Abilene and his cousin-who was like a brother, Paul Lopez Jr. (Marie). Reggies Paternal relatives: 4 Aunts Annette Williams of Hearne, TX, Claudette Thomas (Dale) and 1 Uncle Ramey Rucker, plus a host of great aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
