Rebecca Diane Galaviz, 65, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Rebecca was born on October 13, 1960, to James Bitner and Phyllis Ash in Elkhart, Kansas. She attended Elkhart Senior High School.

She married John Galaviz on July 26, 1986, in Pampa, Texas, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, James Bitner; and her stepfather, Lloyd Meinke.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Rogan and her husband Christopher; son, Jarel Galaviz; sisters, Vicki Wise, Renee Elliott, and Shiela Chatfield; brother, Jack Bitner; grandchildren, Kaytlynn Rogan and James Rogan; and mother, Phyllis Meinke.

Rebecca loved to sew, garden, and quilt. She also had a deep love for hats. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her family and loved ones.
