Randal (Randy) Ray Moore

Randal (Randy) Ray Moore was born in Abilene, TX, on July 27, 1957, to Raymond (Doc) and Doris Moore. He attended Coleman High School and, although he did not graduate with his class in 1977, Randy went on to serve his country through military service. He joined the Army National Guard in 1957, later transferred to the Army, and was stationed in Korea. When his enlistment was completed, he transferred back to the National Guard. Later in life, Randy joined the Texas State Guard, where he proudly served for several years.

After his military service, Randy became a truck driver. Throughout his life, he would occasionally stop driving a truck to take different jobs so he could have more time with his family, but he always found his way back to driving. It was a career and a passion that remained an important part of his life.

Randy loved firing up his little smoker, which was made from a 250-gallon propane tank, and cooking a brisket along with his special vegetables. He enjoyed hosting his special barbecue parties to celebrate the birthdays of his granddaughter, his wife, and himself. For many years, these celebrations were held at the end of July. Later, they were moved to the 4th of July so the family could enjoy a great fireworks show right at home.

In 2018, Randy moved to Minnesota to be closer to some of his children and grandchildren. There, he enjoyed experiencing all four seasons, joining a bowling league with family, and working security at the NHRA National races. At the bowling alley, he was affectionately called "Sandbagger," and he loved it.

Randy was not a big talker, but he could talk for hours with his son-in-law Andrew, mostly about trucks and work. His quiet nature did not mean he had little to say; those who knew him best knew there were always stories, conversations, and memories to share.

After Randy was diagnosed with severe Emphysema, breathing became harder for him every day. He was eventually able to move back home to enjoy the drier air and spend time with his extended family during his final year.

Randy Moore was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; his mother and father, Doris and Doc Moore; infant sister Carylon joy; and step-granddaughter Shyanna Nicole Steele.

Randy Moore is survived by his wife, Beth Love Moore; children, Kami Moore (Kari Bergh) of Fargo, ND, and Rhys (Danielle) of Seabrook, TX; step-children, Lewis (Sammie) McWhorter of Clyde, TX, Le Chelle (Andrew) Robinson of Crosby, MN, Jami McWhorter (Jeremiah Loch) of Deerwood, MN, Justin (Ashley) Green of Little Falls, MN, and Jarrin Dotzler of Abilene, TX; brother, Scotty Moore of Clyde, TX; grandchildren, Destiny, Jason (JJ), and Emma of Coleman, TX, Sean of Lock Haven, PA, Gladys, Brandi, Liam, Jace, Nicole, and Lyra of Seabrook, TX, Sean of Clyde, TX, Hunter, Craig, Austin, and Clayton (CJ) of Crosby, MN, Phoebe of Dothan, Alabama, Anberlynne of Little Falls, MN, and Arianna of Abilene, TX; and great-grandchildren, Pracilla and Harper of Seabrook, TX, and Avery, Ace, and Ares of Crosby, MN.

Randy will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his love of truck driving, his enjoyment of bowling, and the many family gatherings filled with good food, laughter, and fireworks. The memories he created with his family and loved ones will remain with them and be cherished for years to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
