Obituary

Napoleon Ross 77 of Brownwood passed away Tuesday August 19 at Cross Country Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 23, at 2pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Hayes as the eulogist. A visitation will be held at the Brownwood Funeral Home from 4pm to 6pm on Friday August 22. Napoleon was born September 3, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant TX, to the parentage of Amos and Coraell Ross. He received his primary education from the Mt. pleasant school system and worked in Mt. pleasant after graduating high school. He then moved to Lubbock TX where he met the love of his life Mrs. Mae Ella Phenix. In 1969 Napoleon then married his wife of 45 years in Las Vegas NV, they then moved to Pasadena CA. The Couple moved to Brownwood in 1979 where Napoleon would work and retire from the City of Brownwood. Some of his hobbies included hunting and watching just about any competitive sports on television. Left to cherish his memory are Wife Mae Ella Ross of Brownwood, daughter Ellen Clemons (Ronnie) of Slaton TX, Son James Lee Staten of Fort Worth TX, 2 grandsons Kevin Clemons of Phoenix AZ, and Bradley Clemons (Terain) of Charlotte NC, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Napoleon was preceded in death by both parents, Brother Fredrick Ross sisters Eliza Brown, Floreen Byrd, and Ada Lee Hawkins. Online condolences may be made at www.brownwoodfuneralhome.net.
