Hazel Murline Burks Shagula passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 while under the care of Hendrick Hospice. Murline was born in Rowden, TX on August 6, 1929 to William & Georgia Burks. Murline was employed in healthcare and became a LVN for 20 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and the company of friends & family. She was a longtime member of University Baptist Church. She was proceeded in death by her former husband Andrew "Shag" and a son John. Murline was survived by son Ronald Shagula and daughter Janie Barton, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on Wednesday January 13th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care.
