Mollie Scott-Brown 80 of Palestine received her heavenly crown Wednesday May 18, 2016. A service of praise and celebration will be held Saturday May 28, 2016 at 12:00pm at Smith Chapel Church of God in Christ, with Pastor Jessie Johnson as the Eulogist. A visitation will be held at McCoy Funeral Home Friday from 12-6pm. Mollie was born January 10, 1936 in Palestine TX to the parentage of Nathan Scott and Nettie Hamlett. Mollie received her education from Palestine Public schools. She lived in Jerusalem community until the end of her life. At an early age she united with Bethel A.M.E. Church. In 1952 Mollie united in Holy matrimony with Guy Brown Jr. and to this union came 10 children who she loved dearly. She united with Jerusalem Baptist Church under the pastoral of Rev. E. A. Blachshur and was baptized under Rev T.W. Berry. Mollie was a lady who absolutely loved her family and more so she loved God. She was a life-long member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, and would volunteer her time doing whatever needed to be done. Left to cherish her memories are: five daughters Daisy Brown Hicks (William) of Tyler, Doretha Brown Gross of Fort Worth TX, Amanda Brown Mitchell (James) of Waco, Alpha Brown of Fort Worth, and Olivia Brown Williams of Houston TX, 5 sons Guy Brown III (Jacqueline) of Dallas TX, James Brown of Rowlett, Philemon Brown of Fort Worth, Larry Brown (Zenobia) of Waxahachie, and Jason Brown (Kimberly) of Houston. She is also survived by sister Mineola Moss , 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends.
