Obituary

Funeral services for Minnie Mae Riggins Rudd will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Greater Faith Community Church, with the Rev. Paul Stevens officiating and the Rev. Eddy Hays Eulogist. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Brownwood Funeral Home and Cremations. Minnie Mae Riggins Rudd was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Cameron, Texas, to the parentage of Howard and Ester Riggings.Minnie Mae was raised in Cameron where she attended public school and she later settled in Brownwood, Texas, where she had eight children. Minnie enjoyed life, cooking, gardening, and most of all, helping others. She was known to all as "Mama Minnie". She fed many in the neighborhood from her green garden. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Minnie passed away Sept. 12, 2013, in Brownwood, Texas.Left to cherish her precious memories are three daughters, Betty Joe Bright (Reggie) of Brownwood, Dee Riggins of Temple, Texas, and Delores McCalister of San Antonio, Texas; three sons, Jerry Thompson, James Thompson (Diane), and Richard Riggins all of Brownwood; siblings, Ruby Williams, Mary Lee Crawford, Evaline Brown, Frances May and Ernestine Clifton; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and long time friend, David Eudy. She was preceded in death by both parents and infant twins. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brownwood Funeral Home and Cremations.
