Mary Beeman Burks, 56 of Brownwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday July 12, 2015 at Community Medical Center in San Angelo, TX. A service of praise and celebration will be held Friday July 17, 2015 at 2pm at the Greater Faith Community Church located at 417 Wesley St. in Brownwood, with Minister George Fluellyn as the eulogist. A Visitation will be held Thursday July from 6-8pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home.
Mary Burks was born March 24, 1959 in Louisville, MS; to the parentage of Knowel and Christine Beeman. The family moved to Midland, TX when Mary was just 9 months old and would remain there for many years. Mary received her primary education from Midland Independent schools, obtaining her GED in the mid 70's. Mary met the love of her life, Robert Burks, in 1984 and they got married a year later. Mary enlisted in the United States Army and served her country for several years. In 1993, Mary wanted to further her education, so she enrolled in Midland College and studied psychology. Mary had a kind heart and would help just about anyone. She opened her home to foster children and fostered many children over the years. She worked as a teachers aid and returned to foster care when she moved to Brownwood. Mary was a all-around loving, caring person, a magnificent wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, great sister, and a outstanding friend.
Left to cherish her memories are mother Christine Jackson of Brownwood, husband of 30 years Robert Burks of Brownwood, 4 daughters, Recola Burks of Fort Worth, Rosita Burks of San Diego CA, Kimberlee Adams of Brownwood, and Moriah Burks of Brownwood. Son Jerome Beeman of Brownwood, 3 sisters Pearlie Haynes of Midland, Maxine Hall of Midland, and Jessie Justice (Bobby) of Brownwood, 5 brothers Willie McDonald of Wilmington NC, Knowel Beeman Jr. of Brownwood, Raymond Beeman of Midland, Ricky Larry Beeman of Brownwood, and Allen Greg Beeman of Brownwood. 8 grandchildren Robert Anthony Burks, Tre'Quan Edwards, Jasmine Beeman, Averey Baker, Kyndra Baker, Camille Baker, Julianna Adams, Journey Adams, and host of extended family and many friends.
