Obituary

Marilyn Ann Courtney 52, of Abilene passed away at her home on Saturday March 28, 2015. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00am at the New Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor James Webbs as the eulogist. Marilyn Courtney was born April 7, 1962 in Lubbock TX to the parentage of Joe Henry Courtney and Mary Louise Smith. Marilyn received her primary education from Lubbock schools before moving to Abilene. Marilyn was very family oriented, she loved her family. She was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist church where she was a member of the Choir, she also worked as a usher, and in the church kitchen. She loved her grandchildren and loved playing video games with them. Marilyn was preceded in death by both parents, and sister Blanchie Mae Smith. Left to cherish her memories are 4 sons Michael Courtney of Abilene, Andrew Courtney (Rose) of South Carolina, Fredrick Courtney of New Mexico and Bobby Scott (Dekeisha) of Abilene, and Common Law Husband Rev. Matthew Thomas Jr. 2 sisters Rosalind Courtney of Lubbock, Judith Robinson (T.C.) of Abilene, and 1 brother Joe Henry Courtney of Abilene, 11 Grandchildren,1 great-grandchild, and a host of extended family and friends.
