Margaret Lucille Shores, 78, of Abilene, passed away at Hendrick Medical Center on Monday, October 27, 2014. Margaret was born December 11, 1935, in Sundown, TX, to the parentage of John Lewis Murdock and Edna Bell Bowen. Margaret moved to Abilene in 1986, became a secretary for Chappell Trucking company for many years, then married Victor Eugene Shores, and retired. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, arts and crafts, and you could always find her gardening and watching the birds outside. Margaret's remains will be buried at the Bluffton Cemetery in Tow, TX, next to her oldest son. Left to cherish her memories are daughter Penny Hurt of Abilene, son Joe Derrick of Kingsland, TX, and one sister Pat McCoy of Lindsay, OK. Preceding her in death are husband Victor Eugene Shores, son Bobby Dean Derrick, brother J.L. Murdock, and both parents. Cremation services entrusted to Dove Funeral Home.
