A Celebration of the Life of Lorenzo Chriesman, III Rev. Lorenzo Chriesman, III, of Abilene, Texas, transitioned on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center at the age of 64 with family by his side. Rev. Chriesman was born on July 9, 1950, in Cisco, Texas, to the late Lorenzo Chriesman, Jr. and the late Christine Chriesman. A longtime member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church in Cisco, Rev. Chriesman accepted Christ at an early age. After graduating from Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College, he enlisted in the Air Force. After honorably serving in the Air Force, Rev. Chriesman returned to Texas in 1974 and enrolled at McMurry University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology in 1978. While pursuing his education at McMurry, he met and married the love of his life, Flora (Mays) Chriesman. Not long after graduating from McMurry, Rev. Chriesman enrolled at Hardin-Simmons University and received his Master of Theology in 1980. Rev. Chriesman was a scholarly person and not long after receiving his master's from Hardin-Simmons, he enrolled in the Abilene Business College. At one point and being an example of a true servant, Rev. Lorenzo submitted to God's plan and was appointed as minister over three separate churches: Greater St. Mark Baptist Church in Cisco; Friendly Missionary Baptist Church in Abilene; and, a Baptist church located in Ranger. Additionally, Mrs. Flora Chriesman was ordained and licensed as a minister under the leadership of Rev. Chriesman. After working as a supervisor for Victors Equipment for approximately 20 years, he retired and later went to work for the Abilene State Support Living Center where he eventually retired. Even after becoming ill, Rev. Chriesman still enjoyed being active and his most favorite hobbies included fishing; watching football; karate; but, he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years, Flora Chriesman, daughter Tikishea Chriesman-Pandley, son Robert Chriesman (Connie), and daughter LeShara Chanelle Fletcher-Chriesman, all of Abilene, Texas. Rev. Chriesman was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Doris Chriesman; Jennie V. Chriesman; and, Loretta Chappelle; and brother, Edward Lee Chriesman. He is survived by his sisters, Glenda G. Turner (Huey) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Dr. LaVonne Jackson Leslie of Hyattsville, Maryland; Susie Thomas (Timothy) of Newport News, Virginia; and, brother, Robert Chriesman (Henrietta) of Cisco, Texas. Rev. Chriesman is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica Johnson, Nathaniel Chriesman, Maryanna Chriesman, Micheal James Pullen Jr., Amari TaShae Sharp, Dekendrick Chriesman, Lorenzo Chriesman, Brenden Chriesman; and, Major Johnson (great grandson), all of Abilene, Texas. Rev. Chriesman will be buried with military honors at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery immediately following his homegoing service. Services entrusted to Dove Funeral Home.
