Linda Kay King, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, departed this life January 12, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center. The Celebration of praise and worship for the life of First Lady Linda Kay King, 51 of Abilene will be held at 11:00am Saturday January 18, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church with Pastor Houston McClendon proclaiming the word, Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday at Galilee Baptist Church.
Linda was born October 3, 1962 in Abilene to the parentage of Herbert Pennye and Harvey Lee Walker. She attended Cooper High School. Linda met the love of her life Bobby King Sr., and they were married in Abilene January 19, 1982. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church for 26 years where she was under the leadership and guidance of her pastor and husband Bobby King Sr. She was a dedicated member and over the years had been a missionary, youth director and sang in the Church Choir. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and fish. You didn't have to be related for this woman of God to call you Family.
Preceding her in death are both parents Herbert Pennye and Harvey Lee Walker, 2 Brothers Herman Paxton Walker, Sammie Charles Walker, 2 grandchildren Lanazia Walker, and Mi'Kayla Allen.
Left with precious memories is her husband of 33 years Rev. Bobby King Sr. Daughters Lakisha Walker and Eunice Walker. 2 sons Michael Walker (Tonette), Bobby King Jr. (Rashanda) . 2 Brothers Lorenzo Walker, and Joe Walker. 3 Sisters Robbie Walker, Rosie Bloom (Robert), and her "Twin"Brenda Walker. 8 Grandchildren, Trautiya, Paris, Brikyveon, Michael, Lyrique, Ciara, Kiara, De'shawn,. Survivors also include a host of other relatives, neighbors, many friends, and her Galilee Baptist Church family. Services entrusted to Dove Funeral Home.
