Lidia Ramirez Cadena 62, of Abilene passed away Monday November 13, 2017 at Hendricks medical center. Funeral service will be held Friday November 17, 2017 at The Mission church 3001 N. 3rd St. Abilene TX at 7pm. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5pm-7pm also at the Church. Lidia was born March 26, 1955 in Casas Grandes Chihuahua Mexico to Matilde and Refugio Ramirez. The family moved to El Paso where she received her primary education, and attended Canutillo High school. Lidia met the love of her life Carlos Cadena in El Paso Texas and the two married in 1973. Lidia and her family relocated to Abilene in 2001 and would remain until her death. She was a member of Abilene Mission Church where she got baptized and her son Albert attended. Her Christian faith continued to grow inspite of her trials and needs. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She loved big parties and good food. She always overfilled the plates with food and wanted everyone to have plenty. Lidia was a very selfless person who would give her last to help anyone. She was humorous even in times of pain and discomfort. She would break out with funny jokes at random times. Lidia also loved to spoil her grandkids in her very own way. She liked sharing her blessings with her neighbors and didn't like someone to be left without eating. She loved country music and would also enjoy watching the Dallas Cowboys play. Her tortillas and Mexican Food were the best. In Fact, very few topped her burritos. She will be missed by all who knew her at her very best and her time of sickness. Lidia was preceded in death by both parents, son; Albert Cadena, brother; Sergio Ramirez, sister; Teresa Rede. Left to cherish her memories are daughter; Melissa Cadena Rodriguez of Abilene, sons: Carlos Cadena Jr. and wife Suri of Brock Texas, Adrian Cadena of Abilene, Alex Cadena and Ariel Dela Cruz of Abilene. Sisters: Margie Ramirez and Ana Sanchez both of El Paso, Christy Paredes of San Diego CA. Brothers: Raymundo "Gordo" Ramirez, Edmundo "Flaco"Ramirez, Jesus"Chuy" Ramirez of El Paso, 23 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and host of extended family and many friends.
