Leatrice Polk Walker was born on July 18, 1932 in Memphis,
Tennessee. She was the first of two children born to Andrew and
Elizabeth Polk.
For the past 42 years, she called Coleman, Texas her home. Her
home away from home was the Texas Department of Health and
Human Services where she was employed for 24 years.
Her life was dedicated to witnessing and helping others. Her
church family, the New Testament Holiness Church, gave her
purpose, hope and encouragement. Her 'Take Time To Care' team
gave her a sense of helping others.
She was the proud recipient of the State of Texas Employee of the
Year award and the Coleman County Volunteer of the Year award.
Leatrice Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and
Elizabeth Polk, her sister, Dorothy Parks, and her daughter, Phyllis
Ann Jones. She leaves to lovingly cherish her memory her sons
