Larry Bruce Jackson passed away on October 5, 2023, in Temple Texas after a long-fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born September 12, 1949, to Barbara "Bobbie" (Waller) Jackson and J.W. "Jack" Jackson in Baskin Louisiana. He was the second oldest son of Jack and Bobbie. In 1963, the family moved to Odessa Texas where Larry lived until retirement. Larry was an electrical contractor for and part owner of Dennard Electric prior to retiring in 2016. Larry loved all things outdoors whether it was taking care of his yard, hunting, fishing, building something or working on anything broken. Larry and his wife moved to their ranch in Mills County upon retiring, taking care of longhorn cattle, enjoying vacations and spending time with grandchildren. Larry is survived by his daughter Carman (Jackson) Wommack and son-in-law Jim of Big Spring Texas, son Tim Jackson of Mullin Texas, granddaughters Jordan Wommack of Marshall Texas and Carter Wommack of Big Spring Texas and grandson Hunter Jackson of Blackwell Texas, brothers John Jackson and his wife Laura of Hawkins Texas and Randy Jackson of Odessa Texas, and brothers-in-law Russel Newman and wife Tina of Old Glory Texas and Franklin Newman and wife Babette of Melbourne Florida as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 ½ years, exactly 11 months prior, Paula (Newman) Jackson, his parents J.W. "Jack" Jackson and Barbara "Bobbie" (Waller) Jackson, mother-in-law Nancy (Pittcock) Newman Armstrong, father-in-law James Newman and father-in-law Herschel Armstrong.
