Obituary

Judy Ann Self, 60 of Clyde and formally of Abilene, passed away Tuesday December 15, 2015 at Hendrick Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Monday December 21 at 10:00am at Elmwood Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday from 11am to 4pm at the Dove Funeral Home located at 2500 N. 1st st. Judy Ann Self, affectionately known as "Hunny", was born June 23, 1955 in Matador, TX to the parents of Joseph Franklin Smith and Ruth Whitaker. Judy received her education from the Flomot public school system. Judy met the love of her life and soulmate Thomas Warren Self, and the couple were married June 26, 1971. Judy and her husband Thomas moved to Abilene in 1973. Judy began her long career in the health care profession as a Home Health Care Provider and completing her career as Activity Director at the Abilene Adult Day Care. After retirement, Hunny, continued her loving, caring, and giving ways by helping those that needed it. She enjoyed and loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the WWE. But even more so, she loved her family, especially her 9 precious grandchildren ageing from 7 to 22. Judy was preceded in death by both parents and brother Bobby Joe Smith and his wife Connie. Left to cherish her memories are husband of 44 years Thomas Warren Self of Clyde, Daughter Darla Roberts(Michael) of Waco, 2 sons Anthony Self (Meagen) of Abilene, Raymon Self (Charlane) of Clyde, brother Jim Tom Smith (Ardell) of Oklahoma, and Sister Eulalia Dean (Roy) of San Angelo, including a host of extended family and many close friends. Judy will be forever remembered as "Hunny".
