Johnnie Dunn 89 of Abilene received his heavenly reward Sunday June 19, 2016 at Coronado Nursing Center in Abilene. A service of praise and celebration will be held Friday-June 24, 2016 at 12:00pm at Shiloh Baptist Church located at 135 Shelton St. A visitation will be held Thursday June 23, from 6-8pm. Deacon Dunn was born October 19, 1926 to the parents of Jackie Dunn and Ersula Loftis-Dunn in Robertson County TX,. Johnnie grew up in Robertson county and received his education there. On May 12, 1951 Johnnie married the love of his life, the late Rosie Mae Dunn and to this union came 10 wonderful children. In 1968 Johnnie moved the family back to Abilene and it was then he decided to stay permanently. He worked in the construction industry for many years, working for numerous local private road construction companies. Johnnie was a faithful long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. On any given Sunday you could find Deacon Johnnie at Shiloh Baptist church with his Black Brim Hat, that he wore to church every Sunday. Johnnie loved his family, and more so he absolutely loved the lord. In his spare time he would enjoy watching his favorite western shows. Left to cherish his memories are Seven Daughters Cassandra Dunn of Abilene, Bettye Gindratt (Curtis) of Abilene, Barbara King of Abilene, Pearly Conner (Ocie) Surprise AZ, Jean Lopez (Paul) of Broken Arrown OK, Reta Sapp (Sammy) of San Antonio, Angela Dunn-Rodall (William) of Abilene, Two Sons, Calvin Dunn (Myesha) of Odessa TX, and Jackie Dunn of Arlington, Brother Malachi Dunn of Fort Worth, Three sisters Willie Mae Green of Cisco TX, Ruth Nobles of Abilene, Athelene Hordges of Dallas. 28 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchild. Meeting him at the gates in heaven are wife Rosie Mae Dunn, both parents, son Johnny Ray Dunn, sisters Flossy Dunn, Clarissa Conway, Virginia Head, Mary Jane, Brothers, L.K. Dunn, J.D.
