Joe Ruben Flores 85 passed away Thursday May 25, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene TX, He is joining his loving wife Rugujia Ruth Willis V. Flores and his children Mary Flores, Rita Greenrock, Rosalie Flores, and Robert Flores. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 10am at Patrick Catholic Church located at 406 South Bridge St. in Brady TX. A visitation will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 6-8pm with the Rosary starting at 7pm. Joe was born September 2, 1931 in Melvin TX to Carlos O. Flores, and Renalda Pruneda. He is Survived by his sister, Adelita Castanuela, and his five children Ruby F. Halmon, and husband Charles Halmon from Coleman, Texas; Jose Ruben V. Flores Jr. and wife Kelly Ausley-Flores from Elgin, Texas; Randy V. Flores and wife Michelle Flores from Abilene, Texas; Roy V. Flores and wife Florentina Flores from Choctoaw, Oklahoma. He had sixteen grandchildren: Crissy Greenrock, Coy Greenrock, David Banks II, Justin Halmon, Jeffery Halmon, Jenae Ruth Flores, Hunter Flores, Sabrina McKinley, Montel McKinley, Angelique Flores, Julian Flores, Josslyn Flores, Robert Flores, and Joel Flores, along with twelve great grandchildren. Joe Ruben Flores held many positions in his community, few of which included a city councilman, a farmer, a rancher, and a barber. He will be remembered as a family man with a strong work ethic.
