James Gonzales, 56 of Abilene passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Hendrick Medical Center. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Dove Funeral Home. James was born September 24, 1959 in Stamford TX, to the parentage of Monty and Elizabeth Gonzales. James attended public schools in Abilene before starting a career as a carpenter. James was a sociable person who loved to be around friends and family, he loved fishing, and watching football games. The wonderful family oriented man he was, he would do anything for his family, he absolutely loved his entire family. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Carolyn Woody of Abilene, daughter Jassmine Medrano (Bert) of San Antonio, Mother Isabelle Gonzales of Denver CO, Father Monty Gonzales of Abilene, 2 sisters Mary Park (Gary) of Kansas City MO, Angel Gonzales of Denver CO. 3 brothers Tony Gonzales (Elizabeth) of Abilene, Alex Gonzales of Abilene, Michael Gonzales of Denver CO. 2 grandchildren Jurlissa Gonzales, Sophia Medrano, and a host of extended family and many friends. James was preceded in death by sister Olga Mesa, grandson Joe Nick Acosta Jr. And his Dog Suzie Q who passed away the day prior to his passing.
