James L. Anderson of Abilene passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hendrick Hospice Care Center. Graveside service will be held at Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Friday January 25th, 2019 at 1pm. Visitation will be held Wednesday January 23,2019 from 6-8pm in North's Funeral Home Chapel. James was born April 5, 1949 in Wiergate, Texas to Annie Mae and Samuel Anderson. James received his primary education from Abilene public schools, graduating from Carter G.Woodson Highschool in 1968. James enlisted in the Army and served for several years. In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing at home, fishing and traveling. He loved to be around family and adored his grandchildren. James was preceded in death by Both parents Samuel and Annie Mae Anderson, brothers, Charles Allen, Jimmie Allen and Calvin Allen. Left to cherish his memories are: wife of 25 years, Flora Anderson of Abilene, Texas. Son James Anderson Jr. of Denver Colorado. Step Children, Vince Jones of Abilene, Leticia Jones of Arlington, Quinta Bolden of Dallas Texas, Mark Jones of Abilene, Texas and Hayward Collins of Abilene, Texas. Five sisters, Patsy Allen, Linda Allen-Holmes, Julia Covington, Phyliss Allen and Castina Allen. Brothers, Robert Allen, Kenneth Allen and Fredrick Allen. 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 12 nieces and nephews and host of extended family and many friends.
