Glennis (Glen) Dean Spinks, 63 years old from Brownwood, TX, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Brownwood Funeral Home - 2512 Belle Plain St, Brownwood, TX 76801. Burial will follow at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, 110 TX-16, Goldthwaite, Texas. Glennis was born in Mills County to Barbara and Freddy Spinks on February 7, 1962. He graduated from Bangs High School in 1980 and served in the following Peace Officer positions: 1981 United States Air Force Law Enforcement Specialist - Military K-9 Enforcement Officer, 1984 Texas Law Enforcement Academy - Tarleton State University - State Peace Officer, 1984 City of Bangs, TX - Peace Officer, 1986 Hays County Sheriff's Department - Deputy Sheriff, 1999 McCulloch County Sheriff's Department - Deputy Sheriff, 2007 3M Manufacturing - Corporate Security, and 2019 Texas Department Criminal Justice - Brownwood - Thomas R. Havins Unit - Corrections Officer Glen was preceded in death by his parents; Barbara and Freddy Spinks, and brothers; Glendal Spinks and Greg Spinks. Glen is survived by his sister; Gwyn (Spinks) Crowley, brother-in-law; Tim Crowley, niece and nephews; Kaitlyn, Justin and Braden Crowley, and many cousins in Texas and South Carolina who affectionately knew him as 'Dino'. Many, many stories and laughs have been shared around times with Dino! (Ask one of us! :-) For those that he shared his dream with, Glen's love and desire was to sail in retirement. He loved the freedom of the ocean and would often share his dreams about his boats and various names for his vessel. Family had recommended the S.S. Minnow - but he insisted on the "Southern Cross" - appropriate Glen! - Many sunrises and sunsets to you!
