Obituary

Gail Kirven, 76 of Santa Anna, passed peacefully from this life the morning of January 23rd after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life. Funeral Services will be held at New Saint Willow Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11:00 am in Santa Anna, TX. Gail was born to the late Zelma Jackson, and L.V Miller in Shields, TX. Siblings: Judy Jackson(deceased) and Shirley Barker. In Gail's early years she married Johnny Kirven on September 20, 1965 and bore 8 children: Yolanda Kirven; Santa Anna, Tx, Dilcy Freeman: Santa Anna, Tx, Johnny Kirven III (deceased), Lonnie Kirven; Austin, Tx, Julie Whaley and (husband, but a son) Joe Whaley; Santa Anna, Tx, Anthony Kirven (deceased), Jackie Kirven; Santa Anna, Tx and Calvin Kirven; Ripley, Ms. Gail leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Michael Kirven, LaShawn McDowell, Abraham Dancy, Brittney Reese, JeLisa Kirven, Demitrus Reese, Martika Whaley, Manny Dancy, Jordon Whaley, Shaneese Kirven, Michael Dancy, Mia Whaley, Imani Kirven, Ciana Masis, and Trinity Kirven. Gail also leaves behind 20 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Many people knew Gail for her loving and nurturing spirit. She had an incredible gift for making everyone feel seen and valued. Gail's home was a sanctuary for friends and family alike, always open to those in need of comfort, laughter, or simply a listening ear. She had a natural ability to meet people where they were in life, offering understanding, compassion, and unwavering support. Her laugh was infectious, lighting up every room and bringing smiles to the faces of all who heard it. Gail also had a fiery side; she could cuss you out and love you in the same breath, a testament to her authenticity and fierce devotion to those she cared about. Her warmth, generosity, and joyous spirit left a lasting impression on the hearts of everyone she touched.
