Frederick "Deke" Floyd was born in Jeffersonville, Georgia to Mary Lou Floyd and Joseph Stanley Floyd on May 10, 1941. He retired from Georgia Kaolin where he was a heavy machinery operator. Deke was one of a "two of a kind". He worked hard as long as he was able to and was blessed to have dear friends and family that he "supervised" when they assisted him in working when he was no longer able to physically do the work himself. Frederick Floyd was proceeded in death by his father Joseph Stanley Floyd and mother Mary Lou Floyd; siblings Jesserell " Buddy" Floyd, Olis Thompson, Sybima Hamm, Mary Lorreine Floyd, Matthew Floyd and his twin brother Freddie "Fred" Floyd and his wife Nedra Floyd. Frederick Floyd is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Scarlett Diaz and Tony Campos; daughter Tasha Wilson; his sister Sue Hinson; grandchildren AJ Foskey, Albert Diaz, Andrew Davis, Jada Wilson Jasmine Campos, Marisa Campos, Aqua Campos, Noah Campos, Analeze Campos, Mazi Campos, and Erin Guevara; great grandchildren, Xavier Diaz, Ezekiel Diaz, Eleanor Davis, Maggie Davis, Garrett Stewart and Stella Richardson. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews and friends that were considered family. He fought a good fight. His spirit was strong until the end, but his body was weak. His heart was forever intertwined with his twin brother and he missed him every day since his passing in May of 2024. Deke passed away in Brownwood, Texas in the loving arms of his family. His remains will be transported to his home in Jeffersonville, Georgia to be laid to rest along with his other family members at Prospect Church Cemetery. The family of Frederick Floyd wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood, Texas, Solaris hospice, and Hill Country Home Care especially Angie Ramirez. Everyone provided very kind and compassionate care to both him and our family and it is deeply appreciated.
