Ezell Lyons Jr. 66 of Abilene passed away April 10, 2017 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1pm at Valley View Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Andrew Penns as the Eulogist. A visitation will be held Friday April 21 from 6-8 also at the church. Interment will be held Monday April 24, 2017 at 11am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
Ezell was born June 25, 1950 in Abilene Texas to Ezell Lyons Sr. and Erma Goree. Ezell received his education from Abilene Schools and soon after high school, Ezell was drafted into the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country. After being honorably discharged, Ezell then returned to Abilene where he would live until his death. Ezell loved to listen to music, he was also a man who loved to fix and work in Cars.
Ezell was preceded in death by parents Ezell Lyons Sr., and Erma Goree, sister Brenda Joyce Walker, and brother Robert Jr. Walker.
Left to cherish his memories are three daughters; Tanya Wigfall (Dupre) of Arlington, Shatima Shaw (James) of Granprairie, Danielle Murray of Abilene, 6 sons: Donnel Jones of Dallas, Benard Payne (Wendy) of Abilene, Tony Watkins of Abilene, Ezell Murray III of Abilene, Taurus Ray of Abilene, and Terrence Ray of Abilene, 22 grandchildren, sister Jacquiline Slaughter of Denton, brother Bobby Joe McCree of Denton, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
