Emma Jean Hines 77 of Abilene received her heavenly crown Wednesday December 14, 2016 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. A service of praise and celebration will be held Tuesday December 20, 2016 at 11:00am at Valley View Missionary Baptist Church located at 3564 Clinton St. A Visitation will also be held at the church Monday from 6-8pm.
Born; Emma Jean Jones, September 2, 1939 in Clarksville TX to the parents of Milton and Annie Mae Giddens-Jones. The family moved to Abilene when Emma was a young child, she attended Abilene Schools and was a Woodson High Ram. Emma accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a Steward for the lord, being a long-time member of Valley View Missionary Baptist Church. Soon after High School Emma began working in Downtown Abilene and thats where she met Ozell Hines. Emma Married the Love of her life Mr. Ozell Hines in Abilene in 1956. Emma was a soft spoken, humble, and caring lady who loved her family but more so she loved the lord. Emma love cooking for her family, planting flowers, and she absolutely loved watching her wrestling. She worked for the Baired Family for many years caring for their children, and at Hardin Simmons as a house mother.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Annie Mae Jones, Son Darion Hines, and sister Lena Mae Jones.
Left to cherish her memories are Husband of 60 years, Ozell Hines of Abilene, three daughters; Patricia Hines, Wanda Banks and husband Robby, Jackie Hines, three sons Charles Jones and wife Jackie, Billy Hines and wife Carolyn, and Ben Hines, all of Abilene, five sisters; Brenda Jones of Abilene, Marion Jones of Abilene, Sharon Jones of Dallas, Elaine Jones of Abilene, Beverly Blockmon of Houston, three brothers; Billy Wayne of Abilene, Ben Jones of Abilene, and Bracey Jones of Waxahachie TX, 15 grandchildren, 24 great –grandchildren and a host of extended family and many friends.
