Elijio Amaya 86 of Brownwood formerly of Crystal City passed away Monday January 30, 2017 in Brownwood Texas, Graveside services will be held Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11:00am at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Comanche. Elijio was born May 1, 1930 in Crystal City TX, to the parents of Marcelino Amaya and Juanita Reyes-Amaya. At an early age Elijio began farming in the fields with his family. Elijio worked in the fields for many years to provide for his family. He spent the majority of his life in Crystal city but had lived in Lockhart, Minnesota, De Leon, and the last several months in Brownwood. Elijio loved to spend time with family and friends, and he loved to watch western movies. Left to cherish his memories are sons Michael Leija Amaya of Lockhart TX, Armando Amaya of Minnesota, 8 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Elijio was preceded in death by son Elijio Amaya Jr., 6 brothers,and 2 sisters.
