Dorothy Louise Cooper, 75, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. She was born on December 3, 1950, in Mason, Texas, to Tommy Lee Harper and Lucille Peel.
Dorothy attended school in Mason, Texas, and spent her life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. She had a generous heart and found happiness in helping others, especially through her time supporting those in need at the Salvation Army. She also enjoyed shopping at Walmart, sipping Dr Pepper, working crossword puzzles, and spending time in Bible research and puzzle study.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Lee Harper and Lucille Peel; her brother, Edward Lee Harper; her grandson, Raymond Wesley Carter; her son, Edward Wayne Cooper; and her niece, Christy Egger.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Sandra Day and Susie Culley. She is also survived by her siblings, John Harper, Gary Lee Harper, Heather Rhodes, Helen Harper, and Mary Lee Harper. Dorothy leaves behind seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Jerry Bowers and David Schum for their kindness and support during this time.
Dorothy will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her strong faith, and the love she shared with those around her.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22th, 2026 at noon, at Brownwood Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Bowers officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home.
