Doris Barron-Benitez 72 of Abilene passed away at her home Wednesday August 3, 2016. A memorial service will be held Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 11:00am at the North 10th and Treadaway Church of Christ located at 943 N. Treadaway Blvd. Doris Benitez was born December 21, 1943 in Brownwood TX, to the parents of Hill and Elnora Barron. Doris attended School in Brownwood and soon after high schools she attended Barber College in Abilene. Doris received Christ at an early age and was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Doris loved fishing, cooking, talking, and most of all she loved the lord and doing his work. Doris was a business owner, operating Mothers Day Housekeeping Service for many years. In 1969 Doris met Ezekiel Benitez and the two were married on August 9, 1972. Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 44 years Ezekiel Benitez of Abilene, Three sons, Victor Brown of San Angelo, Steven Brown of Abilene, and Ezekiel Benitez Jr. of San Antonio, sisters Nora Taylor, Deloris Johnson, and Brother Gary Barron all of Dallas, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, son Raymond Hatcher, and Brothers Isaac James Barron, and Clarence Jones.
