Denna Hicks 50 of Abilene passed away at her home Sunday December 31, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11am at the Fountain Gate Fellowship Church located at 909 North Willis. A visitation will be held at the Galilee Baptist Church located at 1011 Briarwood Friday from 6-8pm. Denna was born January 8, 1967 in Haskell Texas to Charles and Johnnie Mae Hicks. She received her primary education from Haskell Public Schools. Denna soon moved to Abilene and would make a life for her and her son. Denna was preceded in death by her parents Charles Hicks "Pete" and Johnnie Mae Hicks. Denna is survived by her one and only son Robert Johnson "Her poo bear", which she loved with her last breath, and two beautiful grandchildren; Christian Johnson and Ivianna Johnson. 4 sisters: Charlene Moore of Lawton OK, Cheryl Hicks of Abilene, Charlene Darwin of Navasota , Lavern Woodard of Abilene, brothers; Charles Hicks Jr. "Blue" and Brenda and Billy Terrell of Abilene, and a host of cousins and nephews, all of her nephews who were her "Favorites". Denna Brought a smile and joy to so many people, she prayed and saved many, didn't matter if you what the situation, she was there. Denna was an angel, she paid her dues and never looked back, she was a women of God, and had a heart of Gold. There is a big hole in our hearts that will never heal, or close.
