David Wayne McGee, 67, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2026.
David was born on February 22, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to George Washington McGee and Virginia Elizabeth Morrison.
David proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1979 to 1985. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Texas to be closer to his father, George McGee, his stepmother, Wyvonne McGee, and his siblings.
David was a quiet, loving, and kind man who never hesitated to show his affection with a hello and a warm hug to anyone who welcomed one. If you knew David, chances are you had a nickname that he lovingly gave you, saw him riding around Brownwood on his bike, or drinking coffee somewhere. He enjoyed collecting and building model cars, collecting baseball cards, and capturing memories by taking pictures on his phone. His kind nature, sense of humor, and caring heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his father, George McGee; his stepmother, Wyvonne McGee; his mother, Virginia Morrison; his brothers, Randy McGee, Ricky McGee, and Billy McGee; his brother-in-law, Robert Daniels; and his uncle, Chief Powell.
He is survived by his sister, Shelia Daniels and Ron Wise; his sister, Becky and Jim Hicks; his brother, Rocky McGee and April Seals; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Brownwood Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1130 p.m. at Brownwood Funeral Home and a graveside service at 1pm at Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to Brownwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brownwood Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
David's kindness, quiet spirit, and unconditional love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
