Christy Lynn Gordon, 19, of Stillwater passed from this life on March 25, 2014 following a tragic car accident. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 5, 2014 at 1pm at Galilee Baptist Church located at 1011 Briarwood St. A visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm at Galilee Baptist church. Christy was born on August 8, 1994 to Shannon Carr and Anita Gordon in Abilene, TX. She spent her early elementary years in Abilene, before her family relocated to Stillwater to be closer to Anita's boyfriend, Derrick Anderson, who would raise her from a small child. Christy attended Skyline Elementary, she played in the band in middle school, and she was a junior high cheerleader. She also attended Stillwater High School and Lincoln Academy. Following her schooling, she gave birth to her daughter and the joy of her life, Ky'Lynn Thompson. Singing and dancing were a big part of her life. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Perry where she sang in the youth choir and danced for their praise dance group. Christy also spent many years dancing at Showstoppers Dance Studio in Stillwater. She loved being around her friends, drawing, but she was never happier than when she was spending time with her sister Unique or her other friends. Christy was outgoing, free spirited, stubborn, independent, and she was always smiling. She loved to make others laugh and she was always joking around with her friends. She took being a mother very seriously, and enjoyed every minute of her time with her daughter. She prioritized her time in a way to maximize her time with Ky'Lynn. Christy always looked for the best in people and always believed in second chances and had a trusting heart. Christy was a proud mother, a loving daughter, a protective sister, and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Although Christy's life may have seemed short, she packed a lot of memories into those 19 years. She touched many lives in her time on earth and her legacy of hope and compassion will live on through the life of her daughter and the other family members she leaves behind. Christy was preceded in death by her father Shannon Carr and her Grandpa Gordon. She is survived by her mother Anita Gordon of Texas. Step-father Derrick Anderson of Stillwater. Daughter Ky'Lynn Gordon, of the home. Brother Cooper Jedlicka of Minnesota, and sister Unique Hunter, of Stillwater, Brother Xzavier Bulliner. Step-brother Kruz Goff of Blackwell and step-sister Tymber Anderson of Stillwater. Grandparents: Chris Hollis, Lynn Gordon, Gail and Willie Anderson. Aunts Shere Gordon and Michele Gordon, as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Christy Gordon Memorial Fund at the University and Federal Credit Union or checks can be dropped off at the Stillwater YMCA.
