Obituary

In Loving Memory of Carlos Sifuentes Garza Carlos Sifuentes Garza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on June 17, 1941, in San Antonio, TX to Edward Garza and Nazaria Sifuentes. Carlos was known for his warm heart, vibrant personality, and love for his family. He was a true "Jack of All Trades," whose remarkable ability to fix, build, and create made him a cherished figure in his local community and a constant source of help and inspiration to those who knew him. He began working at a very young age and spent decades in the farming industry in North TX. His passion for farming was matched only by his self-taught mechanical skills, and he became known as someone who could fix nearly anything. Whether it was repairing a tractor, building custom furniture, or helping neighbors with their vehicles, he never hesitated. He later transitioned into working at Kohler, then on to the Oil Fields in East TX, then back to Brownwood where he joined Waldrop Construction. He dedicated his life to both his work and his loved ones. He's also known by many for his love of risk and the thrill of the gamble, Carlos was a man whose passion for life was matched only by his willingness to take chances. He also loved being outdoors, you could easily find him boating, fishing, hunting, traveling, or playing Bingo. Carlos was always the first to lend a helping hand or offer a word of wisdom to those around him. He was also a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brownwood. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Brownwood Funeral Home. The Rosary will immediately follow at 7:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Bangs Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brownwood Funeral Home, 2512 Belle Plain Brownwood, TX 76801. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nazaria Sifuentes; his father, Edward Garza; his son, Carlos Garza Jr; his first wife, Margarita Sanchez Garza; his daughter, Dee Carlo Garza; his brothers, Jesse, Vicente, Alfredo, Enrique, Edward 'Tito' Garza; and his sister, Maria Garza. He is survived by his wife Celia Ramirez Garza; daughters Diane Cardoza, Dorothy Gonzales (Jorge), Deana Cadena, Delisa Perkins, and Damasia Garza; stepsons, Carlos Gamez, Esteban Gamez; brother, Renaldo 'Boy' Garza; sisters, Gloria Rodriguez and Ernestina Gonzales; grandchildren, Destiny Quinn, David Cardoza, Zachary Cadena, Zenita Robles, Stephanie Zamora, Ignacio J. Cardoza, Jorge Gonzales Jr, Gerald J. Perkins, Carlos Perkins, Gracelynn Maggie-Rose Reese, Jacob Dobbins, Liam Gamez, Aspen Gamez, and Stella Gamez; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Though Carlos' hands may have stopped working, his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the many projects he completed, and the wisdom he passed on to others. He may have been a master of many trades, but it was his love for his family that will be remembered most. May he rest in peace.
