Brenda Battee-Garner 61 of Abilene passed away Thursday August 13, 2015 peacefully at her home with family by her side. A home going celebration will be held Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 11:00am at the Galilee Baptist church with Pastor Bobby King officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8pm at the church. Brenda Battee was born June 25, 1954 in Paducah TX to the parentage of the late William Battee Sr. and Lucy Mae Horn. The family moved to Abilene when Brenda was just a baby and would stay here the rest of her life. Brenda received her primary education from Abilene Schools. In 1978 Brenda married the love of her life Howard Garner Jr. in Abilene. Brenda loved to cook and spend time with her family. Brenda was preceded in death by both parents, godparents and a grandchild. Left to cherish her memories are husband of 37 years Howard Garner of Abilene, daughter Sherry Battee of Abilene, 2 sons Kino Garner (Ali) of Arizona, Shalen Garner (Cara) of Abilene, 5 sisters, Patricia Lowe (Darrell) of Washington DC, Sandra Lacy (Al) of Dallas, Deborah Battee of Abilene, Pamela Thomas (Burt) of Florida, Karen Battee of Abilene and brother William Battee Jr. of Abilene. Close cousins Darryl Jackson, Belerie Jackson and Anthonty Jackson. 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
