Bertha Alicia Acevedo-Rodriguez, 61, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 24, 2025 at 10am at Brownwood Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in De Leon, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Bertha was born in Jiménez, Coahuila, Mexico, and moved to Uvalde, Texas, at the age of 5. Her family later settled in Comanche, where she received her primary education. After graduating, Bertha moved to Brownwood and attended Texas State Technical College. She went on to dedicate her life to social work, a career that reflected her deep compassion and desire to serve others. In 1984, she married Rene Rodriguez, in Abilene, Texas. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Bertha had a vibrant spirit and a warm, joyful presence. She loved to dance, laugh, and bring happiness to those around her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rene Rodriguez of Comanche, TX; son Philip Rodriguez of Brownwood, TX; daughter Sierra Rodriguez of Comanche, TX; and her beloved grandchildren: Alizah, Emery, and Evan. She is also survived by her siblings: Janie (Guadalupe) Garza of Brownwood, TX; Gloria (Ramon) Zambrano of Brownwood; Andy Acevedo of Fort Worth; and Domingo Acevedo Jr. (Lupe) of Comanche, TX. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alejandro Acevedo and Guadalupe Acevedo. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
