This story begins October 23, 1947 in Abilene, Texas, and it begins with a baby boy. On that very date no one could have known how loving and selfless of a person this gift from God would later become. With seven sisters, two brothers and parents whose love for him was unyielding in strength and determination, Ben thrived throughout his formative years to become the man we celebrate here today. As a young man of twenty-one Ben joined the United States Army and served our country in Vietnam with pride, as a result of his service, he received a Purple Heart. Later, Ben took pleasure in a long and gratifying career with the Wylie Independent School District in Abilene where he prospered in admiration. Daddy – Ben was the loving father of four, Bennie J. Jones Jr., Sonya E. Jones, Tamers Jones, and Miqueshia D. Jones Granddad – There were no gifts greater than those given by his children. Bennie D. Jones, Jontae D. Jones, Maryann Jones, Malachi Jones, Journey Jones, Desean Jones, Demarcus Calloway & Dominique Calloway and for these most precious gifts, Ben was forever grateful. Preceding him in death his mother Annie Mae Jones, father Milton Jones and sisters, Lena Mae Jones & Emma Jean Hines. Bennie J. Jones leaves behind his girlfriend Stephanie West, brother Billy and wife Gertrude Jones, sister Marion and husband Mart Brown, sister Brenda Jones, brother Bracy & wife Carol Hankerson-Jones, sister Sharon Bennett, sister Elaine & husband Richard Jones, sister Beverly and husband Charlie Blockmon, an abundance of other family members, and a strong circle of friends.
