Anthony Bocknite 72, of Georgetown, TX passed peacefully in his sleep on October 18, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11am at Emmanuel Chapel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 from 6pm – 8pm at Brownwood Funeral Home.
Anthony Bocknite, affectionately known as Big Chilli, was born on June 26, 1950 in Brownwood Texas to the late Edgar Bocknite, Jr. and Willie Victoria Grace Bocknite.
Anthony was the oldest of five siblings raised, educated and carefully nurtured in Brownwood, Texas by both parents. Anthony accepted Christ in his life at an early age and remained dedicated and faithful throughout his life remaining an active member of the A.M.E Lee Chapel Church in Brownwood, Texas.
Anthony attended R.F. Harden Elementary and graduated from Brownwood High School. His favorite study was shop class, and he especially liked design and carpentry. After high school, Anthony enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Combat Medic in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he returned to Brownwood, Texas where he met Michaele Scruggs, his loving wife. Anthony and Michaele were joined in marriage on January 17, 1973, in Brownwood, Texas. From this union, they had one loving daughter, Angelique Michaele Ward.
Anthony, always polite and very respectful, was a friendly person and always had a good word to say. He served his community as needed. He loved the outdoors where he spent most of his time. Anthony enjoyed swimming, fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors. He loved spending quality time barbequing with his family and friends.
Anthony acquired his wings on October 18, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Bocknite, Jr. and Willie Victoria Grace.
Anthony leaves behind precious loved ones to cherish his loving memories. Wife: Micheale Bocknite; Daughter: Angelique Michaele Ward. Grandson: Daniel Ward; Sisters: Cathy Hygh, Nellie Bocknite-Spencer; Brothers: Paul Bocknite, Allan Bocknite (Mary); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
Services are entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home.
