Obituary

Alfred Paul Moore 78 of Abilene formerly of Las Vegas passed away Monday March 20, 2017 at Hendrick Hospice Care. A Service of Praise and Celebration will be held Saturday at 10am at New Fellowship Baptist Church located at 1142 Tracy Lynn St. with Elder James Moore as the Eulogist. A Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm also at the Church. Alfred Paul Moore sr. was the 6 born to Mr. & Mrs. Ben Evans and Cecelia Moore on November 3, 1938 in Yoakum, Texas. At an early age his family moved to Abilene, Texas. He attended Carter G. Woodson Elementary and High School where he graduated on May 23, 1958. He was a member of the Marching band playing his Saxophone; he also played Basketball, Football and ran Track. He played in the Band with Big Mack and the Honey Dippers with His late Sister n law Gwenn that sang with the band also. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Some of his hobbies that he loved to do was Cooking, Fishing and Partying. He worked at The Petroleum Club as a Dishwasher and Head Waiter before moving to San Angelo, Texas, California and then Las Vegas NV. In 1995 He was congratulated with a Certificate for his dedicated work, professionalism, attitude, Loyalty and attendance at Silver State Disposal Service as a Truck Driver in Las Vegas, where he later retired from, He resided in Las Vegas until he moved back to Abilene, Texas in 2016.. Alfred was proceeded in death by his Parents, Ben Evans Moore and Cecelia Moore, His Siblings Ben Moore Jr., Samuel Moore, Faye Pennye, Novrine Moore and Hazel Diggs He leaves to cherish his memoriries: Daughter Thedda Moore Gardner of Fort Worth, Texas, Terry Austin (Linda) of Katy, Texas, Byron Roberts of Abilene, Texas, Alfred Moore Jr. (Verita) of Crowley, Texas, , Lydia Carathers of Arlington, Texas, Jacques Moore of Las Vegas, NV, Three Step Daughters Stephanie Cooper of Paris, Texas, Marilyn Mitchell of , Los Angeles, CA. 22 Grandchildren, 26 Great-grandchildren.and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and family and friends.
