Alfred Deal Sr., a father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hardwork and many talents. Born in Cheneyville, Louisiana, Alfred later moved to Texas, where he attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School in Port Arthur.
Shortly after high school, Alfred was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. His strength, courage, and dedication to duty were a reflection of the integrity that defined his life. He also dedicated some years to the railroad industry as well.
Alfred had a passion for life that was evident in the simple joys he cherished most-playing pool and spending time working on his own vehicles.
He is survived by his children: Alfred Deal Jr. and wife Debbie Deal of Brownwood, Texas; Anthony Deal and Carey of Bangs, Texas; and Aaron Deal of Brownwood, Texas. He also leaves behind his siblings: brother Willie Deal and wife Betty of Port Arthur, Texas; sister Vergie Clark; brothers Curtis Deal and Leon Deal of Houston, Texas; Johnny Deal of Port Arthur, Texas; and Larry Deal of North Carolina.
Alfred's memory will live on in his grandchildren: Cameron Deal and wife Lizeth, Stephanie Deal, Khyren Deal, Rashad Deal and Kalee, Trenedi Deal, and Kenedi Deal; and his great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Deal, Cambria Deal, Ryelan Deal, Jayden Deal, Nevaeh Deal, Arianna Deal, Zion Deal, and Zeniah Deal, Xavier Deal, Jordan Deal and Chloe Deal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Lula Mae Deal; his siblings Mary Lou Deal, Tommy Deal Jr., and James Deal; and his son, Abram John Deal.
The Deal family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Phoenix Facility in Texas City for their compassionate care, and to all family and friends for their prayers, support, and calls during this time.
A funeral service celebrating Alfred's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 11:00AM at Brownwood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10am-11am prior to the service.
